Dancers come in different shapes and sizes.  They dance different styles.  Whether they specialize in ballet, jazz, tap, modern, hip hop, or ballroom all dancers have one thing in common.  They have a presence about them that no one can ever take away.  

Possibly it’s the posture or maybe the smile.  The hours in the studio.  That must be it!  No, it’s their passion.  

If there was one thing that my dance teacher ever taught me, it was that the tricks that you do don’t matter.  It’s what happens between the tricks.  That’s where the true dancing takes place.

A dancer doesn’t have to open their mouth to bring emotion to a performance.  As a dancer, I have felt that passion that wells up inside of you. Sometimes it is so overwhelming that you can hardly hold it in.  So you don’t, and it turns out to be the best performance of your life.  

I love when some one is performing and you can hear others in the audience saying, “Wow! Doesn’t she just sparkle up there?!”  That’s the presence! That’s the passion!  

Just like in dancing, it’s not always the person that has the best tricks up there sleeve or that has the highest kick, but the one that can show their true passion that wins. Be that person that walks in the room and sparkles.  It doesn’t matter who is there, what they’ve done before you, if they have more money or know more people.  You will turn heads when you walk in with your passion.  You will be the one with sparkle.
