Your Bio Is A Better Storyteller Than Your Resume
Loved this! It goes right along with my Win in Interview blog. To my pageant girls: This is why you will win in the “real world.” Win or lose a pageant, you will be prepared to tell a hiring manager your story and get the job!
The relationship economy is alive and thriving, wouldn’t you agree? That is why your bio is so much better than your resume.
So the next time you feel the urge to freshen up your resume, just throw it in the trash and answer these five questions:
- Who am I?
- How can I help you?
- How did I get here [How do I know what I know]?
- Why can you trust me?
- What do we share in common?
Your bio is the linchpin
for expanding your thought leadership and recognition, especially online. It frames the conversation and sets the tone. It’s your job to reveal a bit about yourself and how you see the world. Do this well, and people will eagerly want to engage with you further.
